| Role Summary/Purpose: | The operations analyst will be responsible for support of our data lake applications and technologies. Transportation data lake applications are responsible for delivering millions of dollars in savings and therefore maintaining the applications with the greatest operational excellence is imperative. The analyst will interact with end users to understand the application failure, perform root cause analysis, develop and implement the corrective action. |
| Essential Responsibilities: | In addition you will: - Provide daily break fix support to Transportation data lake hosted solutions from ingestion through consumption - Demonstrate technical expertise across data lake technologies to efficiently troubleshoot and improve application performance and availability - Follow ITIL standards for change, problem, request & incident management - Define root cause failures and develop solutions for proper controls/prevention - Seek and deliver continuous improvement opportunities to optimize application performance, data quality & accuracy, application availability and operational optimization - Identify gaps in system documentation and address as needed - Maintain CMDB (configuration management db) to define application relationships to other systems, processes, owners and support contacts - Drive resolution of data quality issues from ingestion through consumption - Manage communications to extended teams on planned and unplanned impairments - Engage with end users and product owners to ensure timely and informed communications - Perform impact assessment during system outages – remediate, communicate & validate - Service standard request processes such as add users, deploy code, and manage change - Execute production releases in conjunction with scrum team release schedules - Demonstrate understanding of application functionality, business dependency and impact to availability to drive ITIL processes with proper focus and prioritization - Develop and/or enhance support process standards, communication, tracking, escalation and resolution - Collaborate with extended organizations, providing platform and hardware support - Demonstrate understanding of business priorities, data and analytics technologies and strategic needs/opportunities - Assist and support proof of concepts and new technology introductions for installation, configuration and validation |
| Qualifications/Requirements: | - Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science or Engineering from an accredited college or university - 2 years ITIL process experience - Ability to analyze user reported problems, formulate root cause, and implement corrective action(s) - 2 years of experience with Big Data development - 2 years experience programming in at least one platform (Python, R, golang, Angular JS, Solr) - Familiarity with Cloud services and architecture - Experience with Big Data platforms, process and technology such as Pig, Hive, Hadoop, HBase - Experience with Talend or Informatica ELT/ETL - Experience with Greenplum |
