Role Summary/Purpose: Transportation’s data and analytics team is at the forefront of business priorities –developing a service offering for data as a service. This organization manages all delivery & operations of the data and analytics platforms at GE Transportation. The Operations Leader role will be responsible for leading the operational support for all Transportation data and analytics platforms and technologies.
Essential Responsibilities: In this role you will be expected to maintain performance and availability of all environments, lead upgrades and technology refreshes, identify and implement core improvements and provide daily break fix support.

In addition you will:


- Own end to end platform support to ensure business operations, end users and dependent systems are uninterrupted

- Lead team of operational analysts who will perform daily break fix and minor enhancement support, meeting SLAs

- Provide technical guidance and expertise to ensure changes align with technical standards and global design

- Develop and/or enhance support process standards, communication, tracking, escalation and resolution

- Define platform roadmaps for patching, upgrades and technology refreshes

- Partner with Data and Analytics programs, visualization & data engineering teams to understand incoming operational needs and strategize on platform changes/gaps/challenges

- Work closely with extended organizations, providing platform and hardware support

- Lead operating reviews to extended stakeholders for review of team performance and updates on improvement projects

- Provide guidance to technical teams on the implementation of new and existing standards, processes, tools and best practices.

- Demonstrate understanding of business priorities, data and analytics technologies and strategic needs/opportunities
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, or Engineering from an accredited college or university

- Minimum of 4 years of experience in an information systems design, implementation or operations

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with business intelligence platforms (i.e. OBIEE, Tableau, Spotfire, Qlikview)

- Minimum of 3 years’ experience with data integration and ingestion tools (i.e. Informatica, Talend, HVR) and other middleware technologies, with strong emphasis on near-real time data exchange

- Minimum of 4 years of ITIL process experience

- Minimum of 2 years in IT operational leadership role

- Minimum of 8 years of experience leading IT projects / teams
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Analytics, Data Warehousing or Business Intelligence (BI)
- Proficient in SQL, PL/SQL with minimum of 5 years development experience
- Strong team player, with the ability to collaborate well with others, to solve problems and actively incorporate input from various sources
- Demonstrated customer focus, with the ability to evaluate decisions through the eyes of the customer, build strong customer relationships, and create processes with customer viewpoint
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions
- Strong interpersonal, and leadership skills, with proven abilities to communicate complex topics to leaders and peers in a simple, clear, plan oriented manner
- Ability to anticipate obstacles and develop plans to resolve those obstacles
- Change oriented, with the ability to actively generates process improvements, support and drives change, and confront difficult circumstances in creative ways
- Resourceful and quick learner, with the ability to efficiently seek out, learn, and apply new areas of expertise , as needed
- Highly self-motivated, with the ability to work independently
- Superior organization, coaching and interpersonal skills, combined with effective leadership, decision-making, and communication
