Role Summary/Purpose: The focus of this role will be on analyzing, forecasting, and performing Qtr Close activities for Internal Margin (IM) transactions for the GE Healthcare Services business. This analyst will drive information sharing, operating rigor, and analytics for the Services business globally. The analyst will also play an important role in creating an analytic tool to explain Internal Margin variances by region, by product.
Essential Responsibilities: Duties include (but are not limited to):


1. "scrub" Actuals for reasonableness; look at Internal Margin rate vs. history to identify abnormalities review MJEs booked to IM accounts & validate they are correct

2. develop IM Estimate monthly using history and monitor weekly

3. investigate root causes of variances – explore deviations from historic benchmarks, review results by product and by region, etc.

4. provide Executive Summary variance explanations on a monthly basis

5. review Actuals and prepare manual journal entries (MJEs) to re-class activity to the correct HQ organization, if necessary.

6. request mapping updates when Internals are not booking to the correct HQ organization systemically

7. booking MJEs between legal entities, if necessary, to achieve accurate statutory reporting

8. complete analysis to create baseline for 2016 and assist with OP target setting for 2017

9. provide business requirements for BI Analytic Tool/Dashboard

10. develop ICPE elimination estimate and validate booking by Controllership

11. write SOPs and documentation for IM analyst role
Qualifications/Requirements: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Administration and 8 years financial work experience OR High School Diploma/GED and minimum of ten years financial work experience including developing forecasts, analyzing variances, and leading business / finance reviews.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications:
Desired Characteristics: 1. Strong PC skills: experience with financial systems/applications such as Business Objects, Oracle, COGNOS, Hyperion, OBIE, etc. Strong Excel skills in data compilation and aggregation (MS Access, pivot tables, Vlookup, etc).
2. Analytical skills: able to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers.
3. Clear thinking/problem solving: can independently develop solutions; able to quickly grasp new ideas. LEAN/6 Sigma training is a plus.
4. Integrity: accepting and adhering to high moral, ethical, and personal values in decisions, communications, actions and personal interactions.
5. Communication skills: excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate complex business issues in a clear/concise manner.
6. Relevant experience: experience working in a business environment with product/geography reporting matrix structure. Sound understanding of global finance processes and accounting transactional flows. Cost accounting experience is a plus
